Eric Vloeimans HotSpot!

Pinkie Binkie is the debut album of HOTSPOT!, the new band led by trumpeter Eric Vloeimans, featuring Jerôme Hol (electric guitar), Sjoerd van Eijck (Fender Rhodes), Phaedra Kwant (bass & vocals) and Pascal Vermeer (drums).

The music fuses irresistible grooves and bright, melodic lines with a raw, joyful energy — a contemporary echo of James Brown’s In the Jungle Groove and Clyde Stubblefield’s legendary rhythms.

The design translates that same spirit into a visual language: playful, colourful and bold, yet rooted in craftsmanship. The name Pinkie Binkie itself grew out of an inside joke within the band — a reflection of Vloeimans’ light-hearted side and his fondness for pink hues. This sense of humour and openness informed the tactile packaging, the colour palette and the dynamic typography.

Alongside its vibrant funk core, the album also carries a more contemplative layer, embodied by the piece Terra Nova, inspired by Eckhart Tolle’s book of the same name. The artwork mirrors that duality — exuberant and rhythmic on the outside, reflective and spacious within.

For both vinyl and CD editions, the packaging balances clarity with spontaneity — a design that moves in sync with the music: energetic, human, and unmistakably Vloeimans.
