Dutch Sloe Gin

Dutch Sloe Gin is a handcrafted sloe liqueur from the Dutch polder of Flevoland: hand-picked berries, a centuries-old hunting recipe and local herbs, brought together in a ruby-red liqueur with real character. The brand is more than a drink — with every bottle sold, new sloe hedgerows are planted along field edges, supporting insects, wildlife and farmers.

For this brand, we designed the bottle and label. The brief was to capture the craftsmanship, the hunting heritage and the brand's commitment to nature in a single, recognisable image — without falling back on the expected rustic clichés of the category.

We chose a warm, confident yellow as the foundation, a colour that stands out on any shelf, paired with a clean, modern sans-serif wordmark, and let the natural ruby-red of the liqueur provide the contrast through the clear glass. The hunting tradition is carried by a recurring motif: a pattern of small hounds that march across label and packaging alike. The hound became the brand's symbol — a quiet, characterful nod to its roots.

The broad range posed a particular challenge: from a 40 ml miniature to the imposing 4-litre BigBottle, plus the display packaging. We developed one consistent visual language that holds up at every size and makes the brand stand tall, on the shelf and on the table.

The result is packaging that not only catches the eye, but carries the full story of Dutch Sloe Gin: craft, tradition and biodiversity, in every bottle.
